This place is great! We went with a big group - about 15 of us - and had a great dinner! Food was excellent (crabcakes, fish, starters) and all our meals came virtually at once! They have a lawn and games out back. Service was excellent. It seems to be family owned and they seem to honestly care about their guests and providing an excellent experience. It's big and fairly loud so not necessarily a quiet spot -- we were there early July, busy season!
TLDR - great choice if you're looking for entree options that most OBX restaurants aren't offering. Food - we ordered the Brussel sprouts to start. They were good but WAY too much sauce. We couldn't even finish them because the bottom half was soggy. For dinner we split the crab cake and seafood bucatini. The crab cake was good the jalapeño aioli was delicious and really elevated the crab cake - without it, the sandwich would have lacked flavor. The seafood pasta was excellent. Very generous portion of shrimp and scallops but still a bit pricey. Vibes - the restaurant was beautiful with a big porch for outdoor dining. Service - when I mentioned to our waiter that we were splitting our entrees she kindly offered to have the kitchen put each half on separate plates. So thoughtful and made it so much easier to share!
Excellent Bouillabaisse! Wish it came with saffron rice on the side to help sop up all the delicious vegetable saffron broth. Highly recommend this dish and the Appetizer of Scallops with seaweed is excellent too but if you don't like the spices hot sauce on top of the yum yum sauce let them know as it is quite spicy. Tacos were excellent too, just wish they served them on a hot plate instead of a cold one as it makes them cool down too fast. Had the Red Sangria which is okay but not amazing and the Pirates Painkiller which was good but I left off the Nutmeg just because I'm not a fan.
We have eaten here several times. They take reservations but they are very popular so book as early as you can. They open up reservations up to 30 days in advance. Plenty of parking and overflow parking near the back. Staff is on their toes. We didn't have to wait long after checking in for our reserved time. I have eaten their gigantic Philly cheese steak. Get the "wiz" it's worth it. I've also had their burger, it's good and both sandwiches come with fries. All the food is fresh made and comes out in a timely manner.
This is hands down the best meal we had while in Nags Head! The calamari was so tender, fish & chips fresh and crispy. The fresh catch of the day was tile fish served over risotto. I have never had tile fish before but it was like butter. All the dishes had fantastic flavor.
This was the first time I've been to the new and improved location and everything was AMAZING. The service, the atmosphere, and especially the food. I got the Mahi Tacos and there was a small issue with my tacos that I brought to the staffs attention & they handled everything so well. Very good customer service. The bartender, Kobe, was awesome! Can't wait to come back.
Really nice place! We stopped here because of the menu options and accessibility of the building. There's only a few steps and then you're up on the lovely porch area. We had a variety of platters. The Appetizer to start was the fried green tomatoes and shrimp, it was delicious but for the price I would like to have seen a bit more of the fried tomatoes. I had the shrimp and grits, it was very flavorful and the shrimp was the best I have had on vacation. I cleaned the plate, which never happens! All of the meals we had were tasty. It's one of the nicer dinners we've had while staying in the OBX. We'd be back again. It's definitely a little more upscale than the bar/grill type atmosphere.
Excellent food with an excellent ambiance! I spent this past week in Nags Head with my mother and two brothers. This was the very first place we tried on Saturday since the reviews were so positive. We enjoyed it so much we decided to go again last night. The serving sizes were perfect for me. Night one I ordered the Chick DeCluck. I normally have to work to finish a full sandwich at a restaurant like this, but it was so delicious it gave me no trouble. Night two I ordered the fish and chips. They were light and crispy and delicious! Both nights I tried something from the daily specials menu. The fried green tomatoes burrata... holy cow. Delicious. The margarita I ordered from the specials last night was so sweet and refreshing. My only complaint is if you do not have a reservation you'll likely be waiting for a bit. Night one we waited just shy of an hour and night two about 35 minutes. I truly don't feel that's due to heavy traffic either. There just aren't that many tables, which is a little surprising considering this is a somewhat newer location. While you wait however, there's a bar outside as well as hammocks, corn hole, and a tetherball pole. Both nights our servers were friendly and attentive. Nothing crazy extraordinary, but pleasant.
There's a lot of hype and it's true! Yelpers hit it on the mark. A standalone resultant in Nags Head. They offer online reservations through Toast Tab. Ambiance: lots of outdoor seating. There's a back deck with a yard for hanging later after you eat. Yes, yelpers are right, it's very loud inside. I loved the open concept. The indoor bar is huge. You might be able to snag a stool or table if you get there prior to the main dining times. Food: GET the steak and cheese if you are not a seafood lover. I tasted the one that hubby inhaled. Loaded with beef and super meaty. Choose the homemade Wiz. I ordered the Mahi fish and chips. It Came with 4-5 hefty pieces. The fries are delicious and not too salty. We also started with their Buffalo Shrimp. These were better than any I've had on the beach. Staff: I don't recall his name but he was the BEST! He knew his cocktails, was fully ready to talk about all the dishes. I could ask him anything and he knew the answer. PS: if you need souvenirs their front storefront has tons of swag and shirts.
Great atmosphere, amazing food and drinks, and a very friendly staff! We sat at the bar for a late lunch and our bartender Matt was awesome! We tried the fish and chips and mahi mahi BLT and they did not disappoint. For drinks they have mocktails and real cocktails available, of which we tried the cherry tart ginger mule, tutti frutti drink special, and cucumber gimlet. All were great (but my favorite was the tutti frutti)! Fish is fresh as to be expected down in OBX. Wonderful spot but busy so plan ahead and make reservations online! You can get a spot at the bar indoor or outside without reservations. They have some games in the backyard and lots of outdoor seating to hang out while you wait or with a drink in hand. Thank you Blue Moon!
